MediaCamp2011. Как это было.

Что такое «MediaCamp2011?»

Что может объединить и собрать в одном месте школьников, студентов, журналистов, бизнесменов, фотографов, а также всех, кто работает с молодежью? Участники II Международного молодежного лагеря, проходившего в Петрозаводске с 7 по 9 ноября, ответят, не задумываясь: «MediaCamp2011!» Организаторами его стали Международный молодежный клуб «Сольвейг», КРОДД «Карелия-Норвегия», Национальный парк «Водлозерский» и Информационное бюро СМСС.

 

Что такое MediaCamp? Это 3 насыщенных и увлекательных дня, посвященных главной теме – экологическому образу жизни на Севере. Это огромное количество встреч с людьми, у которых есть чему поучиться. Это разнообразные мастер-классы по конвергенции ЭкоСМИ и по основам журналистики, по итогам которых ребята представили свои собственные статьи и интервью. Это прямой эфир в студии радио «Европа+». Это презентация разнообразных медиапроектов, программ и фестивалей  Молодежного Баренцева Совета, просмотр норвежских короткометражных фильмов, созданных молодежью. Это виртуальная игра, в которой каждый смог побыть в роли мэра города и решить экологические проблемы. Это острые дебаты «Есть ли будущее у Севера? Выбор молодежи» .  Перечислять можно до бесконечности!

Участники окунулись в мир СМИ вместе с журналистами газет «Карелия» и «Karjalan Sanomat»,  ТРК «Сампо» и студентами из Тампере (Финляндия), узнали о заповедных территориях России  и  экологических технологиях в бизнесе. Они  обсудили проблемы экологии, города, жизни на Севере с представителями молодежной политики Карелии, услышали впечатления молодого петрозаводчанина Дмитрия Митьковца от экспедиции в Арктику, увидели видеофильм.  Под руководством Павла Петрова, представителя СМСС,  научились заполнять проектные заявки в международные фонды северных стран в «Nordic Climate Day»  и многое-многое другое.

Программа лагеря была очень насыщенной, разнообразной, а главное интересной. Например, во второй день  «One Day on Earth»  участники посетили детский дом №2, чтобы поделиться своим журналистским опытом с его воспитанниками. И если в самом начале еще чувствовались скованность и стеснение, то к концу встречи все ребята с огромным интересом общались, брали друг у друга интервью и находили общие интересы и увлечения. Итогом журналистского десанта стала газета «Один день на Земле». В это же время другая группа участников лагеря была занята в фотокроссе, по итогам которого получилась целая серия снимков, представляющих оригинальный взгляд на Петрозаводск. Особенный интерес вызвало то, каким его видят гости города. Кстати, участвовать в «MediaCamp» приехали даже из Мурманска, Санкт-Петербурга, Тулы, заповедника «Ясная Поляна».

Закрытие «MediaCamp2011» проходило в Музее изобразительных искусств РК, там же подвели итоги проекта «Год Фритьофа Нансена в Карелии», в рамках которого и проходил лагерь. Завершилось все концертом норвежской музыки, но  «MediaCamp» не прощается с участниками. Полезный опыт, который они приобрели за эти 3 дня, море эмоций и впечатлений, новые знакомства, свежие идеи проектов, статьи и фото репортажи – все это остается с ними. И, конечно же, все с нетерпением ждут «MediaCamp2012!»

The II International Youth «Media Camp2011» will take place in Petrozavodsk the 7th– 9th of November 2011. This arrangement will draws attention of the young people, the society, mass media and the public authorities to the topic of ecological behavior in the north of Russia and Europe. The event is organized by the International Youth Club “Solveig”, the Friendship Association “KareliaNorway”, Vodlozersky National Park, and the Nordic Council of Ministers. The organizers offer the participants to see the problems and challenges of the 21-th century in a new light, to assess the prospects for the Euro-Arctic Region and to identify the potential of the environmental style of live through the modern forms and methods of presenting information.

The subject’s topicality, a variety of media forms, a hard-driving programme and the high level of the external experts have already drawn attention of young people and professionals from the northern cross-border regions (Murmansk and Arkhangelsk Oblasts, the Republic of Karelia, St. Petersburg, Moscow, Chelyabinsk, Central Russia and Europe) to the “Media Camp 2011,” which is held in the framework of the project “The Year of Fridtjof Nansen in Karelia.” Many applications were received from the representatives of natural reserves and protected areas, environmental media, nonprofit organizations, and students.
Within 3 days, the participants will become familiar with innovative Russian and foreign media projects, particularly the work of news agencies (RIA Novosti, ITAR-TASS) and environmental media. The representatives of the Barents region will share their experience in organizing such projects as “EcoCup», «0,1 Megapixel» (Murmansk), The Barents Stories, Barents Passion Week, ExpLODE,  the Barents Youth Film Academy (BYFA), which unite Norway, Sweden, Finland and Russia. The films from Norwegian Youth Festival «NUFF» (Tromsø, Norway) will be shown.

 

On the 8-th of November, for the first time ever, young people can express their attitude and take part in a global action «One Day on Earth». The discussions about the role of youth in the North, the role of the individual in history, the problem of choice and stereotypes rupture will bring the day to conclusion. On the 9-th of November, a «Nordic Climate Day» will be organized for the participants of the camp. They will become familiar with the issues of environmental protection within the framework of the Information Office of the Nordic Council of Ministers in St. Petersburg, the possibilities of organizing of environmental projects and actions with the support of the international funds of the Nordic countries. The participants will also play the Barents virtual game “I am the Mayor of an Environmentally Pristine City”.

 

The outcome of the project will not merely gain knowledge and creative communication, but also publications and photo-report on websites and on the media, newspapers, pamphlets, films and project proposals. The participants of the “MediaCamp2011” project will get international certificates. They will have a chance to take part in the second Norwegian-Russian round of the project -“MediaCamp2012” in early 2012.
The First International Youth Camp “MediaCamp” took place in 2009 and won the the Republican Cultural contest in the category “Development and implementation of information products and technologies in the sphere of culture”.

One Day on Earth

On November 11th, 11.11.11, across the planet, documentary filmmakers, students, and other inspired citizens will record the human experience over a 24-hour period and contribute their voice to the second annual global day of media creation called One Day on Earth. Together, we will create a shared archive and a film.

Founded in 2008, One Day on Earth’s first media creation event occurred on 10.10.10. The collaboration was the first ever simultaneous filming event occuring in every country of the world. It created a unique geo-tagged video archive as well as an upcoming feature film.

Together, we are showcasing the amazing diversity, conflict, tragedy, and triumph that occur in one day. We invite you to join our international community of thousands of filmmakers, hundreds of schools, and dozens of non-profits, and contribute to this unique global mosaic. One Day on Earth is a community that not only watches, but participates.

Creative young people and experts from Karelia, Russia and other countries
within 3 days will become familiar with innovative Russian and foreign media projects, work features of news agencies (RIA News, ITAR-TASS) and environmental Media.

In addition to theoretical and practical forms of training, camp participants of “MediaCamp2011 “will be able to foot in the Orphanage as journalists, go through an express-course at the Photo Academy, participate in the Photo cross and the Barents virtual game “I am the mayor of the ecologically clean city” and to create a  collaborative youth media products.

The First International Youth Camp “MediaCamp” took place in 2009 and became a winner of the Republican contest of cultural projects in the category “Development and implementation of information products and technologies in the sphere of culture.”

October 23-26 the 1st International MediaCamp for youth will be arranged in Petrozavodsk within the framework of the project “Journalism and information technologies as a resource for NGO development”.

During four days there will be discussions concerning the role of youth and media in the modern world, stereotypes and barriers; master-classes, trainings, meetings, excursions, acquaintance with youth organizations of Karelia and Petrozavodsk.
Besides active forms of learning, the participants will be able to realize their creativity during international photo-cross and photo essays, as well as while writing materials for Russian-German website Tochka-Treff, youth websites of Karelia, Estonia, Norway, Finland, Barents. The best materials will be published in newspapers of these countries.

The organizers of the camp are International Youth Club «Solveig», the society «Karelia – Norway» involving The General Consulate of Norway in Saint-Petersburg, “Unipress” (the Association of young journalists in Germany), the State Committee on Youth Affairs in the Republic of Karelia, the Ministry of Culture and Public Relations in the Republic of Karelia.

The participants are creative young people from Estonia, Germany, Norway, Russia, Finland.
